Help with 1920's Brunswick Royal

Hi guys. I was given what I believe is a 1928ish Brunswick Royal 8' about a month ago (been lurking and learning here since). My first choice was to get it up and playing and refinish it later. Problem is that as I read and learn more I am probably in over my head financially and technically as the table really needs a total restoration. Everything is there except the rail blinds but is pretty beat up (ends of rails damaged, center slate has full depth crack thru middle of it, veneer peeling/missing from legs) although the frame is solid and leveled very well. My second option is to trade the table either for a lower end table that is "playable" now or towards mechanic services on another (later) table. Third choice is to offer it to one of you guys for the goose and start from scratch. I really wanted to get a table up and running but I also dont want deface/destroy an antique that might be of better use to someone with more skill/cash. I will move this to the buy/sell section and I apologize if this should have started there but I just wanted to get your opinions as mechanics first.

Sorry about that. I am in Central Massachusetts, just southwest of Worcester and about an hour from Hartford.
