Two one-pocket matches continue to wow me.

1) Efren v. Shannon in Galveston.

2) T-Rex v. Robo in Fremont.

I had to rewind several of Efren’s shots to figure out how in the world he escaped from some of the horrendous traps Shannon put him in. I decided Efren looked for the one place on the table where the cue ball had to go and kicked or caromed or comboed … somehow he managed to get it there.

With T-Rex, I was blown away by the complexity and ingenuity of some of his scoring shots. He would slam into the stack, balls flying everywhere, and more often than not, one would dart into his pocket.

But revisiting the video, I became even more impressed by some of his multi-ball safety moves. So often he went from being in a trap to reversing the entire table — moving three, four, five balls to his side.

Of course there was remarkable cue ball control from both Efren and T-Rex.

Q: Does all of that make sense?

A: Yes, to me, and that’s all she wrote.

Is the Fremont match the first race to 40 with orcullo and chohan? If so I agree, that was some of the most interesting and entertaining one pocket I've watched.

I've seen some of the Galveston match since I truly started to understand one pocket but I haven't really sat and watched it again. The first time I was just trying to learn the game and that video popped up.

I'm going to try to find some 1P action tonight actually, I'll try to channel my inner Efrex
