Hey Guys and Gals...
Just got back from spending a few days at the Grove Park Inn in Asheville NC. While I was there I took a tour of the Biltmore house. It's awesome! I was looking in their Billard Room and they have a practice table and a standard pool table which were build just for them in 1895 by Bruinswick. I would have given a 100 dollars just to have shot on that table one time.

Take a look,... I was very impressed.

I think that "practice table" you refered to is a carom billiard (three cushion) table with no pockets.

That is correct... Sorry
Coop,
No need to apologize. Glad to see your post. I saw a documentary on discovery channel (IIRC) about the Biltmore a couple of years ago which gave a look at the billiards room. Definately impressive!

I was really impressed by it all. The house, the indoor pool and bowling alley. I just can't imagine what it was like to have more money that god.

I Wonder??????

What kind of cues did they play with? That will tell ya if they were serious. Every knuckle head yuppie has a billiard table with a couple of Cuetech cues in the rack.

The Biltmore Mansion cost over $5 million to build & was finished in 1905. I was ther in 1982. The visit was very memorable, I hope to go back.
