HAMB - Hit A Million Balls. Used by some of the aiming system detractors. As in, "Aiming systems don't work. The only way to get good is to hit a million balls."
SVB - Shane Van Boening
Actually it is used by those that understand that the only way to achieve a high level of skill is practice and that means hitting balls.
Its funny that the system user standard reply when someone questions the usefulness of the system they are selling is that that they did not spend enough time with the system in question.
Meaning, they didn't hit enough balls to get a feel for the system.
Sellers of systems can't have it both ways meaning saying you need to practice with the system, meaning HAMB and then try yo imply you don't need to HAMB because the system does it all.
It is a insult to those that play at a high skill level t0 imply its all the system and not practice, IE HAMB, that is what got them to their skill level.
Sellers of system do a disservice to what it really takes to play pool at a high level. Remember, they are selling a product and not really trying to improve someones play. They have a product to promote and defend in order to make sells.
Someone wrote that systems work because of the first hand testimony from users saying they work. Well, that really doesn't mean much because of the subjectivity of the person. This is why the scientific method exists, to take out subjectively out of view points.
