were filled w/bondo or rock-hard over the heads of the screws that hold the slate to the frame. Is this necessary to keep the screws from backing out or can I leave the screw heads open. Also, I am assuming the new rubber on the rails have the side with the canvas covering (Bruns. s speeds) facing up? Thanks for sharing experience..

dirty dog, you can leave those slate screw holes open. Canvas side up on the rubber. does your table still have the plastic skirting?

yes

It had never even been recovered when we found it. It had never been moved from the original owner's rec room. We extended the rails to make 4" pockets and the rubber we put on it was not correct, so we are correcting them now.
