House cue conversion

I just got my hands on an old house cue. It is full spliced with nice veneers (had red and purple). It had a reverse wood pin. It was pretty banged up with a fourth of the butt cap damaged. But it had nice points which were almost uniform in length.

I got too excited about having it converted that I had it rushed to Tony Bautista for proper attention. Too bad I failed to take pictures. He will put in a metal pin, custom rings in the right places, a nice African Wenge Butt Sleeve and wrap it in speckled Irsh Linen.

I will post pics after its completed. ;)

Pardon my ignorance about Tony Bautista, but he must be a pretty good cuesmith/cuemaker, seeing that you have commisioned him to do the conversion. Can i have contact details? Thanks!

I hope you get to post "before" and "after" photos.

Some of his work are on this site:

His email address is tonybautistacues@yahoo.com

My biggest mistake was I did not take pictures as I did not have a camera at that time. I just asked my guy to bring the cue to his place (as its very far from where I stay). He has more detailed work that have not been photographed. So the best I can do is just to take shots on the finished product.

From what i know, Japanese and other clients just send him detailed design pictures/drawins. Many of them are original designs while he also gets requests to do "inspired" versions of famous cues. He just adds his own flavor and aknowledges them as "inspired" or "Tribute" cues ;)

I appreciate the info. I hope your cue comes out swell!

Tony informed me that he can send me pictures of the cue prior to the conversion. So I guess I got lucky. He will also send me pics of a Gus Szamboti Tribute Cue that he's making for me.

Freeman, did you get to correspond with Tony? He's a bit poor on english but he knows how to get the job done. ;)
