but looking for a pool buddy to match up with on weekends and play some straight pool on weekends,
playing alone is getting a little old, or against the 1 bar banger I know,
I literally cant get a game going without beer being bought


im on the north side, close to big tyme, best spot on the north id say

bogies is an option, a last option,
theres a slick willies but the equipment is a bit less taken care of, pretty much a bar with 8 ft goldcrowns, id only favor slick willies over bogies because of proximity

Just a FYI. I know you are a bit north for this but we have a 14.1 league at slick Willies on Westhiemer and near Chimney Rock. We will be starting a new season next Monday. If you google Houston 8 ball league you will find our web page and contact info for our league director.

We have a handicap system that has worked out pretty decent. Our league members range from average bangers to some really good players.

Everyone knows the stories on league play, but they do vary I'm told

Is it a rambunctious bar environment or just people who enjoy the game
I'd be inclined to think straight pool players aren't slammin the drinks and so on

But I don't know which is why I ask
I'd rather not be around that environment its exactly that environment I'm looking to escape as the only pool I get to play is at a pretty ghetto slick willies over here, hootn hollerin and all kinds of nonsense

If I'm alone I'll go to bigtyme but the only people I can play any pool with are now banned from bigtyme, for that exact behavior!
