How do you play rotation ?

From what I have been told, it has similar rules to 9 Ball. The Balls must be pocketed in order 1-15, you may shoot combo or carom shots, and safties are allowed. I have been tol this was THE Game in the Phillipines.

I have some very old Billiard & Pool books at home, I will have to look at the rules in them to be sure.:)

Can annyone explain me the rules. In Europe they don't play this game at all.
One pocket the same.

I found the Rules at this site:http://www.sportplanet.com/vp3/vp3rules.shtml#rotate_rules

Rotation Rules
Rotation is a low ball first game, so the balls must be struck in numerical order. The goal is to reach 61 points (which numerically eliminates your opponent). This is a good game for intermediate to advanced players. Beginners should try Fifteen Ball.

Rack

Fifteen balls in a triangle with the one ball in front, the two and three balls in the corners and the fifteen ball in the middle.

Break

Open break required. Failure to do so gives opponent choice of accepting table in position or re-racking and breaking.

Valid Shot

Pocket any ball in any pocket without a foul to continue at the table.

Scoring

The point value on the ball is scored. All balls pocketed without a foul are counted. If the score is tied when the last ball is pocketed the current shooter is awarded an extra tie breaking point.

Spotting Balls

All balls pocketed on a foul shot and balls off table are spotted.

Penalty for Fouls

Opponent has choice of the table in position or requiring the shooter to shoot again with the table in position.

Three Foul Penalty

Three consecutive fouls is loss of game.

Strategy

Play for the big points. Early in the game look for combinations or billiards on the high numbered balls.

It is much easier to win Rotation by the three foul rule than most other games. Look for opportunities to hook your opponent early in the rack.

After playing Rotation for awhile, 9-ball seems like a walk in the park. Playing Rotation will definitely improve your 9-ball game.

On a scratch or cue ball off the table, is the cue ball BIH anywhere or behind the headstring under current rules.

When I played as a kid many years ago, it was BIH behind the headstring making the ability to make spot shots critical.

Chicago Bears Apparel and Souvenirs

Well, since you're playing rotation why not get 3 friends and try some Chicago? Some guys called the game "Ways," because there were 6 ways to win. We usually played for a half-dollar a way. Here's the version we used to play:

There are six ways to make money - by making one of the money balls or by scoring 61 points. Money balls are the 5, 8, 10, 12 & 15.

The player who pockets the one ball automatically becomes partners with whoever pockets the 5. If the same player pockets the one and 5, then the 8 becomes the partner ball, and so on. If one person sinks the one and all the money balls and collects 61 points, he could get all the money ($3 from each player in a 50 cent game). In our circle that was rare. Another thing, partners can't follow partners, so, if the players who make the one and 5 were following each other, someone on the other team will have to jump in between you after the guy who makes the 5 finishes his turn.
