How Is Your Break?

Hi Jennifer, I remember you saying a while ago that you were struggling with your break, and I saw you on TV a few months ago and it did seem that you were not breaking very well. Have you been practicing it? If so how is it coming along? My break suffered for a long time until I figured out that my timing was off.

My break is something that I'm always working on...along with every other part of my game! The good news is that it's becoming more consistent and I've found some things that work well for me. Thanks for asking!

Ok, curious question?

Why is it you never see any of the pro's anymore going from the break box? I think in the past couple yrs i have seen one pro go from the break box and that was Efren, and it was only because, he litterally couldnt make a ball on the break, so he was trying from all over the table.

Now, i watched a tape of Archer vs Reyes, from like 96 or something and they had to use the break box.

I only ask this because i have started to go from the box, basically a couple inches left of first diamond with the CB on the string, doing this on a 9ft and 7ft.

And i am suprised as to how much power i can generate from there, plus i have more ablility to control the CB. yes it took me about two days of practice to get it down lol, cuz it was kinda awkward, and i kept on miscue'n lol.

The break box doesn't give you anymore power, and you have less of a chance of making a ball on the break from there. The reason why most pros like to break from the side rail is because you put more pressure on a certain side of the rack which gives you a greater chance of making the wing ball.

breaking the balls

to me when i break the balls up on the table you should try the corner break or the straghit break that is how i get most of the balls to go in the pockets

thanks
