How long are each races?

I want to ask everyone how long does for each race take on a good average?

Race to 9

Race to 7

Race to 5
 
It's hard to give an average, since a race to 9 can be over in 20 minutes of someone wins 9-0, or can go two hours if it goes hill-hill (I've seen a 3-hour race to 9 before). An average in between the shortest I've ever seen, to longest for races to 5, 7, and 9....

Race to 5 average- 40 minutes

Race to 7 average- 60 minutes

Race to 9 average- 80 minutes

It also depends on the calibur of players. These averages are for good players. C players and below, throw on an extra 30 minutes to each IMHO.
 
If I play a race to 9 with someone my speed, it might take a few days... But people who can run 5 - 6 balls can do it in less. I'd think an average race to 9 with good players should take about an hour and change...
 
As a Tournament Director, I allocate time as follows for 9 ball matches:

Race to 9 - 90 minutes

Race to 7 - 75 minutes

Race to 5 - 45 to 50 minutes

If it's ladies playing, I add 15 minutes to the times above for the race to 7 and 9. They just naturally play slower than the men.

Mine take:

race to 5 - 15-20 minutes
race to 7 - 30-40 minutes
race to 9 - 45-60 minutes, but I only go to 9 for $200-400 sets.

These are money matchup times, not tournament times.
 
depends on how good the players are and how fast they play, 9 on average is an hour with 2 good players who play normal speed-not walking around the table picking bugs of the cloth etc. i like races to 9 or 11 the best, short races are ok.
