I'm here in Tunica right now. They announced between 150-160 during the players' meeting.
This is my first ever big pool event. All the Derby regulars say this is smaller than the DCC. But, they think it's drawn more it's first year in comparison to DCC's first one.
Personally, I think it's going to ramp up a bit as the days roll by.
I spoke to Greg Sullivan and he said he was pretty nervous at first, but as the entries started to pile up.....it's looking much better now. Just not out of the woods yet.
He also made sure to mention that this is more about putting on a good first show to build on for next year AND to expand for other events. The grand plan is a tour, of course, he added.
That was the first time that I met Greg and I was thoroughly impressed. A genuinely nice guy.
