How straight should it be?

So my current playing cue is an Olney and I also have a Schon that I'm currently selling. Both of these cues are just perfectly straight. I was looking for a break cue and ordered a Viking Fat Daddy. My first cue was a Viking, which I still have, that I got about 8 years ago so I have a soft spot for them. Cue showed up and while the shaft is dead straight the but has some wobble when I roll it. I took out my old Viking player and it has the same thing. It's enough so that when rolled it goes from having a little gap under a good portion of its length to touching the table. With the shaft on the joint moves up and down but the tip never leaves the table.

So, how bad is that? Its just a break cue and I really like the feel of the shaft. Is expecting perfect straightness too much for a production cue? Should I send it into Viking for replacement? Just looking for oppinions to help a newbie out.
 
I would try and send it back. Its a new cue and theres no reason for it to be warped. In my opinion, all cues should be straight when new whether theyre production or not. Viking are probably pretty good about this type of thing, or the place you ordered it from.

if the shaft is dead straight and there is a wobble then there can be a few things wrong from what i know...which isnt everything.

if the joint facings are not flat or the pin is not straight then u can get wobble that way. also if there is a wrap on it and it is contacting the table then that may be your wobble right there if it is minimal.

what surface are u rolling it on? pool table?
 
Rolling it on my desk, it's very flat as I used it to roll my Schon and my Olney both of which are perfect. Wrap doesn't touch the table except during the portion that is bent down. It is definitely the butt and it is definitely not straight, probably varies a couple mm as it rolls.

I'll probably play with it this weekend and then send it into Viking since I might be out of town the next weekend and will not be able to play at all anyway.

Have you tried rolling the two halves separately? If they both roll flat, then the problem is in the joint, and if it's a slightly bent pint you can easily fix that yourself. If it's not a bent pin you need help.
