First off, I'm new here, and this is my first post. I apologize if I chose the wrong category. Also, I did a preliminary search, and I didn't find a similar thread, but it's possible that I missed it while skimming through.
I'm curious, has anyone shot with both versions? The aesthetically pleasing curly maple version and the regular maple version? Any noticeable difference in the hit? Difference in deflection? I've heard curly maple can hit softer than regular. Also, I've heard Richard's shafts are among the stiffest hitters out there. So even with the curly, would it really matter? Would it still be a pretty stiff hit?
As a side note, could anyone tell me what the taper is like? Specifically, when does it start to thicken? My current shaft has an extreme 18" pro taper.
Also, I wish there was a video out there showing the difference in sounds/feel of each of the ferrule options. That would be a super helpful video for indecisive people such as myself.
