Hey folks.

From what i can find, this appears to be an as-2, but i couldn't find details on what the butt wood is, or if it was a full splice or not.

I also read on some old threads that Paul made some cues for Dufferin which only sold in Canada which is why it has both hubler and dufferin logos. Cue is clean, and straight. Wrap is cleaner than i would expect. I will probably have the wrap cleaned though. No idea where ot has been the last 30 years.

If anyone has any info to share i would appreciate it. I realize it isnt a high value cue. I only paid 45. I am a sucker for the old cues.

$300 cue on Flebay so at $45 you got the steal of a lifetime!
I know ;) i am visiting family 4 hours away, and i check second hand apps like kijiji and what not to see if anything neat is available. Found it posted and went to pick it up.

I love the old cues. Hueblers are just not common in the area so i am not familar with them, whih is why am asking.

IN answer to your question about woods- I believe that your cue is either Bacote or another wood referred to as Mexican Rosewood. It is hard to tell from the short piece of wood on the butt sleeve.

Thanks. Most of the bacote i have seen is not as solidly dark as this one, but when i look at it closer that could be it. I do see some lighter parts here and there in the points.

I was wondering if anyone had the specs on it from the catalogue. I could match the picture, but no details.

The other possibility that I see is East Indian Rosewood - Huebler used both East Indian and Mexican Rosewood

If I remember correctly from a thread on here years ago, Dufferin had pool halls in Canada and this was a line of cues they sold there, made by Mr. Huebler. It’s like the line he did for Clicks and Dave & Busters.

One of my best friends worked at dufferin. I followed up with him, and he said he recalled this had been done just before he started but had never seen one of the cues. I havent heard of any dufferin specific halls, but they definitely had halls that only used their tables and installers. Very possible they were sold in those halls.

Dufferin sold them in their gamerooms (showrooms). Most major Canadian cities had one (or more). Vancouver had one. Many a Huebler was sold out of there and I would direct many new players looking for their first serious cue to them. Great joints. Solid players. Good value.
