for the 3rd time (I've watched it a couple of other times over the past few years). Great great movie......great acting......great story. I appreciate this film better with each viewing.

The Color of Money is a decent movie also, but nothing like the original. "Vince" vs "Fast Eddie". No comparison.....Tom Cruise couldn't hold Paul Newman's jock strap!

If you liked the movie then get the book, it's even better than the movie. Also The Queen's Gambit would be a good read, also by Tevis. It's about a chess prodigy but is quite riveting to me.

TCOM was about Eddie finding himself again. I think Cruise did a great job of playing the very talented but wild player who turns into a ruthless hustler. His character in he movie wasn't supposed to be on a quest to be the best as Eddie was in the opening battle with Minnesota Fats.

Anyway there is a lot of depth to both movies. Each one has a lot of messages in them about life.
