I finally found a new 3/4hp electric motor for my old 54in. Atlas metal lathe, but the new Dayton motor is wired different than the old Hoover motor. I am trying to use the original drum switch that has 6 contacts 3 on each side with a seperate 110 cord coming into the drum to power up. There was 4 wires going to the Hoover motor and the Dayton has 7 that are P1-P2-T2-T3-T4-T5 and T8 and I need to know which motor leads connect to which terminal on the drum switch. I just don't want to let the smoke out of a new 250 dollar motor and my research so far dosen't show which terminals to use in the drum switch although I saw that T5 and T8 are the reversing wires. Please help if you can I am electrically challenged.--Leonard
