I just recently started back playing pool after quiting a couple years and I just finished reading playing off the rail and hustler days so I got the urge to try some one pocket, I had never played a rack of it in my life. I ran down to the closest pool room and started practicing some, well about the 4th rack into it I had my first (and only so far ) 8 and out in 1 pocket!
Now if I can only find someone to play against :)

Haha, I just finished reading 'off the rail' today and as I read the section on Grady's one pocket tourney in Reno I felt a need to try and learn a proper break at that game; I'm not great though so I'm sure it will give me lots of trouble.

clip the second ball with a little high left (if shooting from right side). It should go to rails and stop short of the side pocket.

right?

I was taught that whatever side you break from, you get the pocket on the other side. ex...If you break on the right side, you're the left corner pocket. right or wrong? I haven't played in YEARS....Since I was learning to play really!

that is just understood.....but technically you have to call and can take the same side, but that would be silly.

The official site is Onepocket.org. It is a great site with road stories, the Hall of Fame members, game rules, instructional material, etc. Give it a try, you'll love it.
