Impressive Lathe Work...

I used to make them with 5 cubes in them. Made one from sterling silver for my brothers 21st birthday. I only made a couple with silver, the others I made from brass. I made them so that the corners were 0.3mm larger than the diameter of the side holes. The hardest was the very center cube, as the tool was small and narrow and quite long.
