Raya Sports wishes to announce the following changes regarding the World Pool Championship Qualifying Tournament to be held in Metro Manila from October 28 to November:
First, as of today, September 20, there are only eight slots that will be open for competition in the Qualifying Tournament, and not 10 slots as originally announced. Matchroom Sports has informed Raya, however, that this does not preclude the possibility that more slots will become available in the coming weeks as the different continental associations finalize their entries and players decide on their travel plans.
Accordingly, Raya is scheduling the Qualifying Tournament over five days, from October 28 to November 1. Eight qualifying events will be held during the first four days. A fifth day of competition will be held if there are additional slots.
Second, Raya has decided on a change of venue in the Qualifying Tournament: from Billiards Zone in Manila as originally announced to the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City. This was decided on to ensure the standardization of billiards equipment for both the World Pool Championship and the Qualifying Tournament. Star Billiards Center is an all-Brunswick table facility. Foreign players playing in the qualifiers may be assured that they will be playing on standard Brunswick tables during the qualifying tournament.
