In the desert

I'm spending the winter in Palm Desert and want to play some billiards. Anyone familiar with the area? Is there a place nearby to play without having to drive to LA?

I don't know of any rooms in Palm Desert or the Palm Springs area. I think the closest would be:

Mi Oficina Family Billiard
5431 E Holt Blvd
Montclair CA, 91763
Phone: 909-983-8939
Language Spoken: Spanish
Contact: Jose Luis Alvarado
Number of Carom Tables: 8
Description of Carom Tables: 8 heated Verhoevens
Room Type: Public

I have played there and the room has some very good players. It is about 90 miles from Palm Desert.

Silver Q Billiards
1120 E Highland Ave # 3
San Bernardino CA, 92404
Phone: 909-886-0690
Language Spoken: English
Number of Carom Tables: 1
Description of Carom Tables: 1 unheated Brunswick
Room Type: Public

Never played in this room, so can't tell you anything about it. It is about 70 miles from Palm Desert.

If you decide to play in one of these places, please let us know what you think.

By the way, you can always check for rooms with carom tables anywhere around the country by looking on the USBA website: www.usba.net and clicking on "Billiard Rooms Nationwide".

I have a friend that lives in Palm Springs who has a table in his house. I just got his permission to send you his contact information, which I will do in a PM to you.

Excellent!

Bruce,

Just sent you a PM. Thanks for your response and kudos to this site. A great resource for our dying breed.

I live in Palm Desert. Only place is the private table at Gary's place. Hope to meet you there sometime TJ Dave. I am in San Bernardino right now on business. Gonna get to play on the local table in San Bernardino tommorow. There are basically two places with an hour of Palm Desert to play excluding Gary's, which is San Bernardino and Brawley. Gary's house is the best equipment though.
