This evening after much negotiating and haggling I reacquired a custom cue by Bill Hagan that was built for me in 1991.
At the time Hagan was in Miamisburg, OH but I heard that he had moved to Gilbert, AZ and then got out of the cuemaking business altogether.
My question is this:
The cue needs a refinish and needs to have the shafts worked on. I am also thinking about having another shaft made for the cue, but I know this will be difficult because of the way Hagan made his shafts. It has a bone collar at the joint and bone collars on the shafts as well so that when it is screwed together it looks like the joint has been split in half. The cue also needs a rewrap.
Does anyone know of someone that has taken over Hagan's work? I would like to have a chosen successor do the work, but failing that I am open to other suggestions.
Also, does anyone have any idea of the value of a five point (cocobolo, tulipwood, pink ivory, burl, satinwood) ebony Hagan with purple heart drapes and multi-wood windows (tulipwood,pink ivory, burl and satinwood) on the butt and custom joint caps (ebony and pink ivory)?
