Does anyone know of any good pool halls in Illinois or the St. Louis MO area? Are there any big ametuer tournament stops in these areas? If not, what needs to be done to get them to stop there?

Palace Billiards, owned by John Abruzzo and Steve Hopper is in the south suburb of chgo by Oakbrook. It is a real classy joint and loads of action. Chriss's Billiards in Des Plaines and in Chicago are also great for play. These are two great places for play.
Now if you want real action:
The Midwest Open will be on October 15 through 19 of this year. All the info for that is at www.midwestopen.com It is at Pheasant Run in St. Charles, IL. The rooms are half full and the tournament is selling out very quickly. People have registered as far away as Germany for this event.
The Windy City Open is also in the Chicago area in January. www.windycityopen.org. This tournament is also selling out quick.
