For those interested, I have a friend, Alan Ashley, who owns Gr8Pool promotions, and has his own Gr8Pool leagues and tournaments. He uses InGenPool for running tournaments and likes it.

Go to: http://www.ingenlab.com/billiard/ingpool.html

It is share ware, rated 5 stars, and complete license can be purchased for $39.95.

A tournament that I semi-regularly play in uses Ingen these days. They used to use that old program, the one written by the guy who passed away last year.

Ingen's product is a nice step up from that old program, and they've added a lot of features. But the folks running the tournament I mentioned above have had some issues, and have given a fair bit of feedback to the developers.

One big issue was that they run three tournaments at once - APA bracketed tournaments, 2/3, 4/5, 6/7 in their separate groups. When adding players to the program (it keeps its own text-based database over time), sometimes a new player wouldn't be added properly and an existing player would get used - so "John Smith" who was a 4 would end up in the 4/5 tournament, and also in the 6/7 tournament in place of another player's name/record.

Not long ago I saw yet ANOTHER tournament manager program, that was more like that old proggie as far as features go, but is a much more recently-written app, and probably doesn't have the same issues the old program did. I can't remember the name or source of it at the moment. If I can find out I'll edit this post with the info.
