My wife is captain of a women's Valley team and had this happen the other night at league. The player that was playing one of her team members was flashing the entire team and bar, grabbing her private area and saying some rather rude comments, when my wife's player went to the bathroom this woman proceeded to try and break into the bathroom and then went bathroom on the floor outside of the bathroom door, she was taking 20 minutes for each shot and asking everyone on her and my wife's team which shots to take.Needless to say my wife was not very happy when she got home.I asked her why she said nothing and she replied that if she was to say anything there would have been a bar room brawl. The next day she contacted the local league rep and all he told her that he was going to do was give the player a warning. We both feel that this is not a proper thing to do.The other girls on the team said when they have to play this bar again they are not going to show up.Maybe some of you have another avenue that we can persue.Any comments welcome.

She was flashing the other team?

Maybe you should go with her the next time she plays there and check the situation out. Sounds like my kind of bar. LOL

First of all, it is a bar. Second, it depends on how tough the league director wants to be. Usually, they don't exercise much control over behavior like this. Your wife is in between a rock and a hard place. She's probably going to have to figure out how to resolve it herself. Maybe she can get together with the rest of her team and figure something out such as meet with the other team captain or something. Good luck!

Let me get this straight, this lady exposed herself, and then proceeded to urinate on the floor in front of everyone? Why didn't anyone kick this lady out of the place? I think it's very illegal to deficate the floor of any public establishment.

Pro-player,

I don't mean to be critical but I just can't resist, urinate and defecate are two separate verbs. I think she just urinated so that was probably acceptable in that particular establishment. LOL

Inappropriate behavior...never ends.
I have been around pool for 30 years and have seen more than my share. Many players would like to develop a Professional tour system...as long as this behavior continues (even at this level of performance) we have almost NO CHANCE. At this level it affects those who wish to get better and maybe even improve to become professional...and maybe even have some good fun along the way.

I hope I don't offend anyone here but I used to play in bar leagues and don't have a lot of fond memories. We went to one bar and one of our players' shirt touched a ball on the table and they called a foul. Yeah it's a rule but come on! Another bar we went to, I ran a rack and the other player wanted to kick my ass. I started walking outside and the captain of his team threatened to kick his ass if he followed me out there. It was crazy! I just don't see the bar leagues as real pool. Almost all of the bar players are inferior players compared to the pool hall player. Now don't get crazy on me! I know there are exceptions, I'm just saying that this is a general rule of thumb. Most people that play in the bar want to drink and play. Most of them are just not as serious about playing as the pool hall player.

This is really bad behavior. I think that the staff should have kicked her out. If I'm not mistaken deliberately urinating on the floor pretty much goes against the health code. Correct me if I'm wrong but doesn't the bar your wife was in sponser the other team? So wouldn't her conduct reflect badly upon them. I'd discuss it with the owner or manager. As far as pool etiquette goes, its pretty shitty. I suppose you could refuse to play again but wouldn't that be a foreit of all your matches? I guess I don't have an answer as to what to do about that.

Rick

I think you're right. I've played in tournaments in bars before and also on leagues. Most of the people I played just wanted to drink and have fun. Whereas poolhall players tend to be more serious about their game.

Rick I don't mind some grammar criticism when I'm wrong. By deficate I just meant going to the bathroom, not urinating in particular.

the thing i hate most in pool is when two ugly women decide to have sex on the bar table. "pretty" is acceptable, though.

personaly i would do the following as a husband in your situation.

1) go and watch next time, just to verify your wifes clames. heh

2) drop that bar leagues and find a better league or establishment to play in. it only takes 1 bad apple to ruin it for everyone else.

i have played in a bar league or two and nothing but drunkin happyness comes out of it.

IMHO: you play a bar league to get out of the house and be social and drink ALOT.

I disagree with Optimus. If I were you, I'd stay out of it. This is your wife's problem unless she invites you to get involved. Even if she does invite you, I'd encourage her to handle it on her own. This way, if she's able to figure out a way to resolve the issue, she'll feel good about her accomplishment. Let her get empowered. Just be careful. Today she'll straighten out her pool league and tomorrow she'll straighten you out, LOL!!!

Rickw, you always say some of the funniest things I've read on here! "Today she'll straighten out her pool league and tomorrow she'll straighten you out, LOL!!!" You always try to enlighten the conversation with something comical or sarcarstic!

Ok guys first of all you WOULDN'T have wanted to see this woman from what my wife told me. Second we found out that the league operator is real close friends with the owner of this bar and the bar is close to being kicked out of the league and that is why he won't do anything. From what I have been told my wife's team can refuse to play at this certain bar and have them play at my wife's bar.The bartender was going to kick her out but she was unsure what to do because the woman was playing on the pool league.I told my wife that i will be going next time they play and if this woman acts up I will say something to her.
