Inserting a leather wrap

I have played with a thought about inserting a leather wrap to my cue(s). The idea was to make it by myself. How difficult is to insert a leather wrap and can it be done without any machinery ? What I understood is that the leather wrap is just a piece of leather that is glued(?) to the wrap area. What kind of adhesive to use ? Is it difficult to get the seam invisible ?

Thanks in advance...

If it's done without a lathe, it will look ugly.
If your cue already has a linen wrap, it will have a groove for the leather wrap.
The leather wrap has to be around .021" thick to fit flush. Unfortunately, leather wraps for the most part are not even in thickness . So the groove might have to be worked on a little or the wrap will be sanded down a bit.
Cutting the seams is the trick. You need a jig/apparatus and the right cutters to do it right.
Can you do it? You probably can depending on your expectations.
