Installing Irish linen

What type of glue is most commonly used to install Irish linen. I have used elmers, spray adhesive, and glue sticks. Some of the old wraps that I take off still have alot of tack so I was wondering what type of glue would still be tacky after several years.

Elmers white glue...not school glue...thinned a little to spread it even. If you use something else you or the next person to replace the wrap could have a hard time getting the old wrap off. My 2 cents.

Elmer's is by far the best in my opinion. The cues that have sticky residue are from imported cues 100% of the time. These are the cues that need to be re-wrapped the most since the glue doesn't hold the wrap in place the wrap will shift and then no longer be able be put back into it's original position.
