Instroke Premier vs. Geo

Are the only differences the looks and straps?

I'm wondering if i should spend a little extra and get an instroke geo case rather than premier because the double riveting on the back and front of the geo (as all other models besides the premier) might reinforce the case much better.

Any thoughts from people who've had both a premier instroke and another model like geo, cowboy, buffalo, etc?

The Premier cases are made from a good grade of vinyl.

The Geo cases are made from "recycled" leather. The Instroke web site says "GEO cases are made from environmentally friendly leather. Recycled from leather scraps and polymers, looks very much like patent leather."

The Cowboy and Buffalo cases are made from leather.

I've not owned a Geo. But I can report on the other three -- all are well made. The Premier is considerably cheaper than the Cowboy and Buffalo and has a few construction differences as you noted. But mine has held up well.

i know each is made of different materials, but with the higher end cases you're just paying for looks

Im asking if the riveting on the better cases helps maintain a stronger structure and if its noticable. If not i don't see any reason why i would get a higher end instroke case if its just for the looks.

The premier vinyl is very good, i have a 2x2 and looking to upgrade to something bigger. Mine has been through alot but now since im upgrading i always wondered if other instroke models were sturdier on the top past the tubes due to the riveting.

The premier isn't hard near the top of the case past the tubes and my shafts are about 31.5inches in length (with wood threads) so that's why im asking this to anyone whose had/seen both.

Yes, with the top open, the Cowboy and Buffalo models are stronger/harder/sturdier at the top of the case above the tubes. Whether that results from the additional riveting on the leather models, rather than some other difference in construction or materials, I do not know.

But when the top is closed on the Premier, it seems plenty strong enough to protect the contents from just about any normal abuse.

Edit: I just checked the length of the tubes in a couple of cases. In a 3x5 Premier, the butt tubes are 31 1/2" to the top of the opened case, but the (front) shaft tubes measure 1/4" less. So 31 1/2" shafts could be pressing into the padding inside the top. On the Cowboy model I checked (3x7), both butt and shaft tubes measured 31 1/2" to the top of the opened case.
