video:Snooker nasıl oynanır(= how to play snooker)
'Firstly, he describes the game.He describes the colours of snooker balls, their respective values, how to collect points, how to win a frame and about free ball etc.
A woman voice asks about the cue.Saygıner says that the snooker cue is a thinner but harder cue and he also says that snooker is not a game of spins and a game in which the cue ball rebounds off cushions a lot but a game of tempo and very a good stroke. He adds that even the stance of snooker player is different and shows the basic stance of a snooker player. He mentions the positions of legs and how chin must be near to the cue and he makes a standart snooker shot(though the table and balls he uses are carom equipment)
while shooting, Saygıner says that a snooker player concentrates on the exact hit on the object ball.
He says the game has serious inner difficulties .
he says There is a general misconception about snooker : it is the hardest cue game.He says no and states that every game has its own difficulties like 3c ad pool have.He says that turkish people may think so becouse they only see snooker on TV.According to Saygıner, all games are difficult espacially at highest level. To reach and compete at that level a serious training necessary. He says a serious and respectable training is required for top level and concludes the video by saying that becouse of this hard training all snooker players,3c players, straight rail players and pool players deserve respect'
I remember Saygıner co-hosting on the Turkish Eurosport Channel in 2007 during the World Championship Higgins-Selby Final.I did not watch completely but I remember him mentioning the requirement of a hitting very subtle hits in snooker. In one position,Higgins missed a shot and Saygıner said he was expecting the miss becouse the concentration was absent in the eyes of Higgins and stated his surprise after the resurgence of Higgins at the final stages of the match and attributed that resurgence against Selby to Higgins's experience.
I have read somewhere that eurosport commentators claim that Saygıner said to them off -record 'snooker is three times more difficult than 3C'
There is a forum called,
www.thesnookerforum.com , in that forum there is a member called 'Semih Saygıner' and I am not 100 percent sure but he seems real Saygıner but maybe not.
