I have a Condo Policy, my Cues, Case etc. are covered up to the aggregate limit of my personal property. (personal property being things like furniture, dishes, t.v., etc.)

Items like Collectables, Guns, Jewlery do have limits in my policy upon what the policy covers up to.

Fifty bucks per Cue seems high, have you had your agent talk with you Company/Carrier about getting you a rider to cover your Cues?

BTW I am with State Farm

Renter's insurance

When I had renter's insurance, it was covered under
personal property, which I raised the limit on to be sure
it was covered.

Note though: My agent told me that if I left it in the
trunk of my car (which I don't) and it got stolen, it
would not be covered.

For Fire and water damage, I have a rider on my renter's insurance that covers all the collectibles in my aparment. It also covers theft as well, but I also have this for would be intruders:

Another thought would be to try and find someone getting rid of a small rifle safe. Then, even if you are broken into, they're not going to take the safe...to heavy to move quickly. The added bonus of a safe for your cues is that should there be a fire or other natural diaster, your cues will remain untouched.

insurance

The gun safe is a great idea. If you want to obtain replacement insurance you're going to need an appraisal. Cues that are of a style (model) still made by a living cue maker you could refer to a catalog or a letter from that person. For antique, discontinued, or otherwise unobtainable cues you'll need to have an "agreed value" policy, which will also involve an appraisal.

Mine are covered under both those conditions. It costs me about 1% of the value per year (about $10- for every $1,000.00). I don't have all my cues insured. Just the pricier ones. I'm going to look into that gunsafe idea.
