I'm a hobbiest, only do 3/8 10, all that's necessary given I only work on my own cues.
I've thought about using a couple other types of pins because there are times when I'd like more flexibility when buying used shafts. For instance, there seem to be a lot of radials available.
First question is, if I had a radial tap, is there any differences in the process or the requirements from tapping a shaft or butt for 3/8 10 and installing a pin?
Second is, when installing a 5/16 18 pin into a butt, do you need to install a sleeve into the wood first or will the pin threads be okay in maple if properly glued.
Thanks
