Sometimes the odds can run ridiculously wild. Some online bookies accept bets while games are in progress. What do you think?

is it good for pool? i'll bet every pool player is drooling at the thought of finally "cashing in". remember several years ago in either reno or LV, when the players cashed in on lebron(or so the story goes)?

I don't want to be a troublemaker here, but it is good that people are aware of probabilities. Many fans idolize the Pros, and it is such a pity that these things can happen.
This sort of thing will dampen the momentum of 9-ball in how it has been elevated from a sleezy game into a sport at the expense of sponsors and avid fans who jeer and cheer in their lonesome in front of the TV.
I am not suggesting that organizers are in kahoots with bookies as perhaps they are the only readily available sponsors. Maybe it is survival, and at least pros have big tournaments to look forward to. But until non-pool related companies are not guaranteed that their brands will not be tarnished, pool will not be enjoying the kind of loyalty of sponsors that, say, tennis has.
Tennis pros have astounding year-end earnings! There are probably more poolhouses than tennis courts worldwide; more pool players that tennis players. Mathematically, it can be done provided we all clean up our image in our own small capacity until the profile of a pool player equals that of a tennis player.
Long live 9-ball!!!
