Is there a way to protect a bumperless Hoppe buut???

I just bought a Hoppe style cue that does NOT have a bumper. I'm nervous I'll damage the the end of the butt as nothing there to protect it, plus I'm clumsy. Is there a way to protect it? It has an allen wrench bolt inside the butt. The open hole in the end of the butt is only like 1/4-1/2" deep. Any solutions? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Tnx

Should be able to get an R6 type bumper and an 8-32 allen screw.

You want it to be protected but without a bumper?

Wrap the bottom end in bubble wrap? Learn not to be clumsy? Play on carpet?
