Its About Over

I made a road trip (6 hour round trip) today to look at 3 tables and I am glad I did. The Brunswick Anniversary was missing some wood on one end and the rails had been repaired. The slate also had a chuck ( 3" x 2" long) missing and the guy said bees wax would be an easy fix. Most of the slate would be under the rail but I really dont want a table with repaired slate. The Randolph was my favorite but it was missing a lot of veneer and showed its age. I wish that it would have been a little better. I think I will buy the 1997 9' GC. It is a little beat up because it came out of a pool hall but I felt real good about the guy that will be installing it and from the feedback from this site I think the GC will hold its value better. I hope to have pictures soon to share. Now I need to win some $ from my friends to help pay for the table.

Thanks again for everyone's help

Good choice on the Gold Crown...whatever it needs (like new rubber etc.)
is worth doing.

I prefer an Anniversary slightly, but not if it has issues.

And I think you're better off without the Randolph....
...those really old tables tend to have under-size slate and side-mounted
rails and they just don't play as well.
