Are you able to tell what kind of leather is it?
I have actually bidded on that case few hours ago. I have not gone back into my account to check if I won. Guess I don't have to do so now!

Its leather
Vynal cases will have a "V" on the bottom of the case where it says "ITS GEORGE". Nick

A black one like this went for $165 last night but it was smooth and had some heavy use.
But if anyone is looking for a nice one, here is one that is actually older than the one I bought, it has the older lock like Fellini and is lizard....hard to describe the color.

Sorry for my vague question earlier. Actually I have bought an almost identical it's George case as the one posted above. But mine is maroon in color.
I have tried looking up some information about the case. I seems that at that period of time when the case was made they only use real leather. If they use vinly they would put a handwritten looking V besides the it's George as Nick has correctly pointed out.
What i am trying to find out is what kind of leather it is. It does not look like eel, defintely not lizard and most definitely not crocodile. So what else could it be?
Does anyone have any ideas?
