wondering if ivory has a tendancy to crack,if it was used for forearms or butt sections.thanx

It might. It all depends on the construction and what part of the tusk is used as well as the condition of the ivory.

also depending on what it's going to be used for.

chances are, if you have the means and the desire to have an ivory forearm cue, you're not necessarily intending on using it for use, but more as a showpiece, which probably means that it would be doable.

but i agree w/ sung's point in that ivory, like wood, has difference properties depending on where it's coming from in the tusk.
