Sure I can tell when I blatantly cue across a ball or hit it otherwise badly. A lot of the time at least. My point is that why are the well executed shots down to CTE and the poorly executed shots down to crappy mechanics? Does a straight, repeatable, well-timed stroke get no credit for the supposedly great shots Barton made in this match? And does CTE get none of the blame for his failings?
I just find his attitude odd. Aiming systems are silly to me, but if they work for others then good for them. What I dislike is the preaching attitudes like Barton's that seem to exude from some of their users and purveyors. He professes to loathe the term "snake-oil salesman" (although it is him by far who uses those words most often on here) but that is exactly what he sounds like when talking about whatever system/case/magical chalk he is enamoured with at the moment.
Are you really this dense?
Where have I said that anything is magical? Did you even BOTHER to read the thread I put up about Kamui chalk? I wasn't fawning over it. I did TWO videos on it comparing it to Masters with the CONCLUSION that it didn't perform that much better than Masters in my opinion. Furthermore in the thread I argued with the Kamui rep about their claims.
People like you make me sick. Because you twist the truth constantly.
As for CTE I have only been and will continue to be an advocate BECAUSE it works. I was given the gift of being wised up to aiming systems by Hal Houle and his only instruction to me was to pass it on as much as I could for free. So I do that. And one of the ways I do it is to stand against people like you who try to dissuade people from trying them. I don't really care too much what systems people want to use because I truly feel that all of them have merit. I do feel that CTE/ProOne is incredibly accurate and that is the one I use mostly.
Please quote anything I said that sounds like snake-oil? Go ahead.
You can't because it does not exist. Everything I have said about CTE is my own experience from going to the table and trying it out. It comes from going to Stan's house and challenging him to PROVE his words and having the experience of him proving all of his words ON THE TABLE.
Do you not understand this?
ON THE TABLE.
I challenged Stan for more than an hour trying to find shots that had no CTE solution and there were very very very very few. And when Stan would show me the solution, after he demonstrated it I then I could REPEAT it using his instructions. That's the power in a systematic way of aiming, not guessing, but instead using a set of keys to unlock the aim for the shot at hand.
Yes, it's possible to chose the wrong key. Unlike real keys in a match you don't get to try it several times to find out which one is the right one. You have to make a decision from a few choices and IF you are not as adept as Stan or Gerry then you can make the wrong choice.
But the fact is that it's been demonstrated more than adequately by those who have mastered this form of aiming. It SHOULD be enough for you and Thaiger and a few others to finally leave it alone and let those who are interested discuss it in peace.
You can't do that though can you?
