Hi,
I have up for sale a one of a kind Jacoby custom cue. This cue is grade A Gabon ebony wood with all ivory inlays. The rings have a silver ring on both sides of the ivory. I am not exact on the weight of the cue, but it is heavier than what I am used to. I am assuming it is around 19.5oz. Jacoby cues from my understanding can have the weight adjusted. The cue is signed and dated (June 2007).
With the cue I have three shafts. Two of the shafts are 13mm maple shafts, and the other is a Jacoby Edge Hybrid shaft. The two maple shafts still have the original tip, and I just put on a brand new Kamui black clear tip (soft). The Kamui tip has only been chalked once when I did a test hit with it after having it put on. Also the Jacoby Edge Hybrid shaft is only about 4 months old, and hasn't been played with much. For the most part I put this cue away after getting it. My main playing cue is another Jacoby which is lighter weight and has a wrap (both my preference).
In addition to the three shafts I just had Jacoby make me custom joint protectors for the cue. There is a joint protector for the butt of the cue, and two of the shafts. The JPs are made of Gabon ebony like the cue, but instead of having ivory inlays I had them made with elforyn which looks just like ivory.
I reached out to Jacoby when I had the joint protectors made to get an estimate on the cue. This is the email I received from Tony at Jacoby Cues:
"Rick,
The cost to remake this cue would be upwards of 3000 yes especially with the amount of ivory (This is assuming we can get enough ivory.) and the grade A ebony in it. Ebony is also getting very hard to get in a grade A quality where it is almost all black.
Thanks
Tony"
As far as condition goes - the cue is in excellent condition. The only flaw on it is at the bottom of the butt. There is a small nick in the finish which I have taken a picture of below. This is only in the finish, and the wood itself is fine. Other than that there are no issues at all with the cue. It looks brand new.
I am the second owner of the cue, and I have hardly used it. I only shot with it at home and do not take it out to the bars to shoot pool.
The estimate I got from Tony at Jacoby was just for the butt of the cue. It didn't include the three shafts or joint protectors (The Edge Hybrid shafts run around $200-$250, and I paid Jacoby $165 for the joint protectors which I just got about 2 weeks ago). I am asking **SOLD** Pending for everything. This includes paypal fees, priority shipping, and insurance. I am not looking to make any trades. If it doesn't sell thats fine. I will just sit on it and let the price of ivory go up. Only considering selling it because I want to get another custom cue made from Jacoby.
Because of the ivory on the cue I will NOT ship out of the United States.
I have tried to be very detailed of the cue here, but if you have any questions please feel free to send me a PM and ask. I am usually pretty quick to reply.
Thanks!
Rick
