Whats everyone 's opinion on Jacoby cues as far as construction and how they play?

Whats is their construction style? Are they full core or other ?

Thanks

never owned on , but ive only heard good things about them . i think they have lifetime shaft warranty you cant beat that

Companies do not stay in business if they make so so products.

Can think of 4 or 5 production Cue they have long track record of quality. Schon, McDermott, Jacoby, and gas more.
I met my brother and his friend Sean at the Las Vegas cue club once. Sean brought his bag of Jacoby cues with him and I played with a Jacoby for the firs ttime ever. I personally found his to be excellent cues. He's a very dedicated player and swears by them.

Jacoby is in my neck of the woods, and a lot of players around here have them. In fact I use Jacoby shafts on my Schons. A friend of mine got another Jacoby custom with 5 shafts last year. This cue is a one of, and has only been test hit, as he uses his other Jacobys for league. I liked it so much when I saw it, that I drove to Jacoby to see about having one similar made, but never followed through with it. In the mean time I have since bought a DZ custom. Right after that, my friend approached me about buying his Jacoby custom, or a new one of Jackson cue he had, as being old like me he was trying to downsize somewhat. He gave me The Jacoby to take home for a week to try. I shot 5 games with it, and it was fantastic, but as I had just purchased a DZ custom, I didn't buy it, I really wanted it, and might actually have bought it if the thread matched up with my DZ or Schon, but didn't want a different shaft size, also the price was very fair, and I think he is still interested in selling it.

Nice looking cue. Not ready to jump yet. Thinking after Christmas also looking for one with a linen wrap. Thinking about getting one made out of a dark cocobolo with 5 purpleheart points or some other mixtures of cocobolo and purpleheart.

Ditto.
I had an old one once, that I picked up for a song. Thought about having it restored. I never shot with it, as I ended up selling it, but...when I contacted Jacoby about the cue, I will say it was one of the best customer service experiences, I've ever had.

I will say this cue has a fantastic, solid hit, and the quick snapshots I took of it really don't do it justice, as the darker woods aren't actually as dark as they appear in my photos. While he bought 5 shafts with it, I think he might be sell it with just a couple of them as they match up with his other Jacoby's. If anyone is interested, PM me, and I will give you his # to get ahold of

I picked one up around 2009, when I was into cue collecting.
It was a cue that Jacoby had left from 2007, that was not sold, so I got it for a good price.
It is ebony into Birdseye. Not sure if points are inlaid or spliced, likely inlaid. Has ivory inlaid shapes. veneers are not.
Blue stained maple burl windows. Black Irish linen handle. Very nice hit and cue ball control. Nice looking cue.
I don't play with it much, since I have a Coker that I tend to use mostly, when I have opportunity to play, that is.

I have three custom Jacoby cues. all are 60". a sneakey, an Edge break cue 1 of, that matches my 1 of "Black Bushka". the LD shafts at 12.75mm, gives me great cue ball control.

I think Jacoby cues are very nice. I like the way they hit, and they are positioned sort of in between a custom cue and Predator. I know they make true customs as well but their "production" cues are sort of in that spot.

They are very good to deal with and are open to whatever you want.

Only real issue is that if you ever decide to sell it they have poor resale value. I think part of that is because they are so popular and more of a production cue but also because their prices on standard cues are a bit too high IMO. I have always loved the HBR4J, but $1100 is way too much

They will discount quite a bit if you see them at a show or APA/BCA tourneys but even then I couldn't justify $850 on the cue.

I sent you a message about this cue.
