I have gotten so many calls that I want to just clarify a few things. First when this guy called me i was sound asleep. He told me what happened and asked if James was with me. I told him no and he continued to tell me what was going on. He asked me if I had any idea of what could have happened. I gave him a brief recap of what was going on with James over the last few years.......
I did not say that James was currently on drugs! I told him James had had a drug problem several years back and that he had cold turkeyed it and just up and quit one day. I told him James had blown a lot of money then between drugs and the casino. Then he took the initiative himself to just quite cold turkey and laid on his couch for about 2 years in a pretty deep state of depression. That is why no one seen him for so long.
I told him the number i had given him was a friend of his and that is where he was when i left him. I said the text he got probably came from the guy that owned the phone, not from James. I told him that I could not see James just taking his $2,000 and running. In fact, he probably didn't make it to Tunica because I had left him in Tulsa and taken the truck. He was also having problems with his stomach from an illness he suffered from that started a long time ago.
I did tell him that he owes a lot of people in Okc, but he felt so bad about it all the time that he would rarely step foot in a pool hall here, not because he wanted to hide, but because he just felt so bad for not being able to pay them. Plus there is absolutely no action here for him. Everyone here knows how good he plays and no one is willing to risk losing even $5 playing him. That is so frustrating for him. Again I said I just could not see James take someones $2,000 and blow off the tournament without a reasone. He had been wanting to go really badly until it got so close to time that he thought finding a horse was hopeless and he gave up.
That is when I talked him into putting a post on az that he needed a horse. He did get several calls about it, the first one within 10 minutes of the post. The problem was that when they would ask how much he needed he just could not ask for enough for the tournament and the hotel room and food money. He had suggested to a few that maybe they could go in with a couple others so the purden of the cost was not on just one guy. He just could not bring himself to ask for what he really needed to play out there, so he didn't call anyone back.
I never said he scammed anyone out of anything. I did inform him that a couple guys in Austin had sent him $200 so he could go there and give them lessons for a week, but the night we were supposed to leave was the night of the F5 tornado that went right thru Oklahoma City and everything here was so bad that we could not go. He felt so bad because we had gotten a couple tires and an oil change with that money and couldn't send it back since we had spent it on preparing for the trip.
I also told him that James had been practicing everyday and playing good. I did tell him that James and I had broken up but because of our own personal issues. I certainly didn’t say it had anything to do with James being a bad guy. I basically told him that I had kids here and I wanted to stay here and he could not stay here and be happy. Plus we had not been getting along for quite some time.
I certainly never said he robbed Mike Johnson. He and Mike are very close. He really has a lot of love for Mike and he would never wrong him. Unless u would consider it stealing when James sold the cues Mike had made especially for him and telling Mike they got stolen because he ashamed for having to do that. I did say something about what James said about a particular cue Mike had but I never said he robbed Mike or was planning on robbing Mike.
For the record, James and I are still not together. I don’t want anyone to think that we made up and that’s why I am posing this. We are not going to be back together, but I just can’t allow someone to come on here and twist the words I said into something that is not true. JAMES STILL HAS ALL THE INTEGRITY HE USED TO HAVE, HE JUST DON’T HAVE THE MONEY HE USED TO HAVE.
