been doing a little reading and there are some great players in iowa. I have posted on here before that i live in a small town in NW iowa called storm lake. i have been playing in bigger cities and have been doing pretty well. i'm not a real strong player but shoot pretty well. i'm gonna miss the state pool tourny in waterloo this year but might make it there to watch. i was just wondering if there are any top notch iowa players that post on here? i am wanting to play higher level players to help my game but it is kind of hard to find them around here haha. i am just wanting to make a few friends around in iowa and maybe find some shooting partners and see what i can learn.

I play with some rising stars once every great while but iam in illinois. Adam and Ryan benke great players and are from iowa and there both under 18.
 
Iowa

Head to Burlington, Lots of good players there, at a place called whitey's at 2601 Madison Ave. you should be able to find any speed player you want. just my .02

The Behnke Boys Rock! They come to most of my events and place in the top of the field. Great players and a very nice family.

They are in the Quad Cities and play out of (I think) Leisure Time. Jessie Bowman's dad Duane owns the hall..

There are a ton of the best players in the world that come from that area. Yes, I said WORLD!
 
ok, took me a while to stop laughing. First of of all the Benke brothers are from a small town outside Dubuque. Adam is the oldest (16 or 17) and plays super. Ryan is a few years younger and plays good too. They arent quite to the elite level but they will be soon.
The best players in the state are by far from the quad cities area. baraks, boweman, vilmont, johnson etc. They dominate the state.
The rest of the top 20 in the state are fairly even. There are some real good players in the Souix City area that play just about at Fentons level. I would look them up if I was you as that is closer.
If you ever get to Des Moines, there are about 6 guys that play Jamie's speed. Come on a Sunday for a weekly tourney. Most weeks a few of the quad city champs come to get some of our easy money.

This weekend(tomorrow) is the atlantic, iowa team tourney. It will be huge. All of the des moines players will be there. That will not be too far from you.

Mike, glad you got a laugh out of it! :D

As I said, Jesse Bowman, Chad, Josh and Jamie are some of the best in the world. I would stake Jesse ANYDAY and have.

I think a lot of the Behnke boys. They are good kids and they are supported by their parents that take an active part in their son's partipation.
 
I definately was not laughing about the Benke boys. If pool stays a priority they will be national class players. Anybody that knows me knows what I was laughing at.

what time is your weekly tourny in des moines? how much to enter and what game? i might have to make it down there and check it out. let me know what time it starts and how long it runs and such. i do make it to sioux city every so often and i do pretty well up there.
 
well i shot some in sioux city today and wasn't playing very well and ended up getting killed. got to play a lil one pocket with a few guys from there and that was a lot of fun. but i was having a real off day so it could have been a lot better, or a lot worse haha.
