Hey Everyone,
I played Japanese 9 ball once when I was in Japan, but i forgot all the scoring. I know it plays like 9 ball, except the 9 and the 5 ball are worth points but I am not sure how that all works. If anyone knows, please post.
Thanks a lot,
Dan

japan nine ball

in japan 9 ball the 3,5,7,9 are the money balls. corners are worth lets say one dollar and the sides are worth two dollars. if you break and run everything doubles corner are 2 and the sides are 4. if you make a ball out of rotation you get paid for it and it comes back up on the table to continue your run. if you make the nine out of turn you just get paid and it comes back up you do not win the game. when pocketing the nine ball wherever it goes but the cue ball has to make its way back to kitchen and stay there. on a foul you have your choice of putting the object ball on the center spot or foot spot cue ball stays where it is. in case of a foul and both balls are in kitchen you can put the object ball on the foot or center spot and cue ball in hand behind the line. if you pocket the nine and do not make it back to the kitchen the cue ball stays where it is and the nine comes back up and the next player gets to shoot it. if you make the nine and scratch the next player gets choice of foot or center spot with cue in hand behind the line. hope this helps you.
