Jazz Cue made by Tony Bautista for sale

...Your Rauenzahn cue

Sounds like this Rauenzahn cue has made the rounds - what do you think of the way it hits? I recently added a 314 shaft to my Rauenzahn to replace a Lucasi/314 combination, and I'm very happy with it. I also liked the original shaft, but once I switched to the 314 there was no going back.

I loved the Rauenzahn cue, it hit fantastic as a matter of fact, I just could not sell it very easily and decided to trade it to get new stock that I could move. Turns out the Jazz cue moved rather easily even though I took a hit on it. I also played with a 314 on the RZ cue, it played sweet...but I prefered the two shafts that came with the cue. They had extra long ferrules like a Muecci and had a soft but stiff hit...sort of hard to explain. Easy to feel the cueball, but not alot of deflection.

As I said, I mainly traded it to get a cue in hopes I could sell. There are two on eBay right now I think??? Heck I even bid on the lower end one.

Nice cues and great quality on his vaneer work...much better than I have seen with some cuemakers who get more money for their cues.

interesting

I think I know what you mean by "soft but stiff hit". I bought the Rauenzahn after an extended losing streak with my Lucasi/314, mainly because I liked the look of it and was impressed by his website (plus, mine has a much simpler design than yours so I could afford it). I was able to get my game back under control, then added the 314 shaft.

My other cue is a Meucci Originals that I bought....well, just because I'm an addict and had never shot with a Meucci. I love it for soft-touch shooting, but can't control the object ball well when I use draw - too "whippy" for me. Now occupies closet space because it's too cool to part with.

Very nice forum - I like the esoteric topics and wide range of interests.

BTW - to the current owner of that Rauenzahn - I called Jerry about a spare shaft and he will make you a terrific deal and include an ivory ferrule for a reasonable additional charge.
