This is a JB Case featuring filigree tooling on the pockets. Filigree in leather work is when the piece is done with layers and the top layer is usually tooled and cut out in between the tooling so that the bottom layer can show through.

Generally the bottom layer is not tooled as well. It's mostly a solid color.

For this piece however we tooled both layers to give the dragons a three dimensional feel as the wind among the clouds. This is a traditional Chinese motif.

From Wikipedia; "Chinese dragons are legendary creatures in Chinese mythology and folklore, with mythic counterparts among Japanese, Korean, Vietnamese and Turkic dragons. In Chinese art, dragons are typically portrayed as long, scaled, serpentine creatures with four legs. In contrast to European dragons that are considered evil, Chinese dragons traditionally symbolize potent and auspicious powers, particularly control over water, rainfall, and floods. In yin and yang terminology, a dragon is yang (male) and complements a yin (female) fenghuang "Chinese phoenix"."

We left the rest of the case in black to allow the dragons to stand out.

(it's for sale in the WFS section)
