Are you talking about Canadian Joe Lawrence?

If so..... he is the reason I got a start in pro pool....

He was playing a tournament at the Wagon Wheel in Atlanta, 1 week prior to the Memphis Open when he got mad (imagine that!) at something. He put his fist thru the wall and broke his hand. I had been betting with and talking to his stakehorse and we had been talking about this Memphis Open tournament. From across the room, we hear this "BAM" and then see Joe holding his hand. Not but a few minutes had passed and someone said that he had broken it and his stakehorse turned to me and said, "wanna play in a pro tournament? The entry is already paid...." I said sure! I went on to Memphis and finished 5th in the tournament and stayed on tour for about 6 years.
