Can someone help me I just picked up a real nice model b cue lathe and the carbide bit inserts are bad and I'm not sure where to order them and what type to order? I have a quick change post and the bits I use are not the same as the ones they sell at Muellers and Joe Porper's place.

What size are the bits? You should be able to get them at any machine supply MSC or Enco.
I just took a look at the Porper site and the ones on there are shockingly expensive. You can buy HSS and grind them yourself for all you needs. You will need some HSS anyway because you are always coming up on something you want a certain shape bit for. HSS is fine for most all needs and it just takes a second to put an edge back on.

Take the carbide insert out of the holder and look for a serial number. OR..post a pic and we can point you the right direction.
