Cue is Bastogne Walnut forearm with Waterfall Bubinga Butt and Points, cognac Kangaroo warp from Martin at (lwww.superiorcues.com), a “5/16-14 Piloted Water Buffalo Horn Joint,Ivory Ferruls and the shafts are sunken wood from Timeless Timber from Sunken Maple.

I received this cue in August of 2011 and it is numbered 66, I think John is now in the mid 70's. Having played this cue now for 6 months and using it both as my braking and playing cue I can not say enough about it. I did have one shaft turned to 12.5 mm and a Sumo tip installed but otherwise it is as received. The cue is both suburb in playability and workmanship. The cue provides an excellent feed back of the cue ball and I can move the cue ball as I like to my ability. The points are damn near perfect and the joint fit is excellent. John is a good friend of Richard Black and although he has never worked with Richard I do believe he has gotten useful feed back from him. John builds his cues by hand no CNC and with equipment he has built himself. I had a previous cue from John number 47 I believe and it also played well. I liked the cue but wanted a cue commissioned by me not one that he had built to sell. For my two cents worth John's cues are under valued for the workmanship, playability and time he puts into them. I do not know John personally having only talked with him on the phone. I have been fortunate to have had cues built for me that i commissioned by such builders as Gus, Barry, Schick, Searing, Mike Bender, Perry Weston, Kikel, and some lesser known builders. Unfortunately I no longer have them but I will say that the cue John built for me would play with any of them. Granted many of them were fancier but played no better and definitely played no better for the amount of $$$ spent. For any of you interested in a cue that plays and is a reasonable deal contact John. John had told me that once he reaches 100 cues his pricing is going to go up. Last I talked to John he was not doing inlays although I did see one cue posted that did have windows in the butt so that may have changed. Sorry about rattling on here if you can not tell I am happy with Johns cue, thanks Randy
