My new cue had the joint pin like this:

Looks to be 3/8-10. It just seems weird that the pin is flat on top. I was just wondering perhaps the cuemaker put the pin in the wrong way or are there pins that are flat topped. Shafts fits onto the butt fine, but ive just never seen a cue with the joint pin like that. The joint pins ive seen were all rounded off at the top.

That pin is in backwards from the way most cue-makers would install it. How ever it doesn't make it bad or wrong. Some cue-makers like it that way and that's the way they install it. Cue-making is a personal thing and there are no set laws to be followed. There are of coarse some tenets that most if not all cue-makers follow but there are many options available to personalize their products. This happens to be one of them.

Is that the joint of your RJH sneaky pete? If so, I think that is just the way Richard likes to do it. I had a cue of his a couple years ago and noticed the same thing.

Ok, thanks. Im not knocking the maker or anything, i love the cue. It was just something i knoticed last night (after about a week of having this cue) and just wondered about it.
