Joint pin size change in a shaft

I am a big fan of the 314-2 shaft and taper. Long story short my original that I had made for my cue with matching ring work is out of service. My cue has a 5/16-14 pin. I have found some new condition 314-2 shafts, but they are in the uniloc pin. Can a cue maker alter these to fit my pin size and change the collar ring work to match my cue without altering the way it plays? If so who would be your recommendation to do the work?

Why not just change the pin in your cue butt to match the shafts- that would require only one change. You can also change the shaft collars or just also make one change to the butt joint collar to match the shafts. As for how a cue will play with ANY pin change or shaft receiver change- no one can predict that - don't look for written guarantees on how it will play. Muellers can do this work as can many qualified, bona fide cue makers. Cost will vary a lot depending on who you choose.

A couple of us have posted this before. You do not have to change the uni loc inserts. You can convert them to a Uni-sert so they fit both uni lic and 5/16x14. If your looking for a compression fit, that entirely different. Don't you have a Cue maker or repair guy near you?
