well, i bought me a Joss Cue from Platinum Billiards yesterday. having the weight changed to around 18.25 and a new white w/dbl black specs wrap put on it. i left the shaft diameter at 13.25 to see how i like it, i can always have it turned down to 12.8 or so.

do you guys think i will like this Joss? i usually practice with a Lucasi, Cuetec, or at times my Nova Custom. just wondering how Joss might compare to them?

and no, i will NOT throw this Joss Cue.

regards,
M

No don't ever throw that one! ;)

I think you will probably like it very much. The 13.25mm will help you be more accurate as far as lessening the chance for putting unintentional side on the cue ball. It may well feel stiff to you though.

I think you're going to he happier than a pig in slop when you get it and will like it better than anything else that you have. Before you start turning down the shaft and go through all of that, if you do have some reservations, I'd suggest trying some different weight bolts in there and varying the weight of the cue first. 18.25 is pretty light and I kind of felt that a Joss shot light to begin with. Just my opinion, you'll have to see for yourself. I like the tip just the way it is.

thanks for the info!
doubt if it will play better than the Nova Custom i have, its about the best playing cue i have ever shot with. however, i would bet its a notch above the Cuetec and Lucasi, guess i'll find out.

one of the reasons i bought this Joss was because 3-4 years ago i was in Evansville at this guys small cue shop and he let me hit with some cues. now i was not as up to speed on cues back then as i am now, but as i recall the Joss Cue hit more solid than any cue he had, or any cue i had tried up to that point in time.

Hmmmm?
wonder why it took me this long to get a Joss?

thanks posters,
