Recently purchased a Joss.
I remember the gold letter ones (on the joint) from the 80's early 90's.
Is this one before or after those???
Came with an extra shaft with ringwork...Joss also?
The It's George case it's in is worth almost what I paid...so I guess it's all gravy anyway!

Thanks,
Elkabong

Looks like early eighties. Maybe right before the "J" series. I think Joss used nothched diamonds on the mid eighties cues. Round points show it isn't older than that. Not much help:o

It is from the 94 series that started in 1994.

looks older than that to me for some reason. Not going to argue with a man with a model number though:)

Not arguing. (I just happen to have a copy of that catalog.)

Joss has used several markings over the years. It is sometimes difficult to tell when they were made.

Pre 1980 I think the "Joss" was hand engraved on the buttcap

Early 80's "Joss" in white lettering above and below Joint. (Some also have the date marked on the collar below the joint)

Late 80's , early 90's "Joss" in Gold lettering above and below Joint

94 series Marked like the cue pictured in the original post.

They also marked some cues with a different logo in the 90's on the buttcap that had the hand in between the Joss and cues. pictured in the Blue Book

There was also the Joss Custom cues that were marked in gold lettering above and below the joint. I believe these were from the 90's also.

I would bet there are variations and exceptions that may contradict what I have posted. If so I would be interested in what they are.

Looks like a model 94-6

Anyone know what the original MSRP was?
I was working in a pool hall in 92-94 that sold a lot of cues.
Can't remember seeing one of these though.
We did sell quite a few of the Color Of Money Joss' back then.
Meucci's were the top seller IIRC.
Other than an Original Gambler just for kicks, they don't do much for me.

Thanks,

Thanks a bunch.
Wish I had kept all those old catalogs now.
They had stuff at the room going back to the mid 80's.
